I can still remember the first time I met Natalie Graves. It was in the hallway outside of my third grade classroom at Mimosa Park Elementary - many years before she started her modeling and acting career.

By the time you are reading this, both the House and Senate have probably overidden President Bush’s veto of the water bill which would authorize projects to restore and protect the Louisiana coast as well as other projects across the nation. The President thought the overall measure was too expensive. Our senators and congressmen have a different view and were expected to vote to override the veto.

At one time, St. Charles Parish was a hot spot for illegal gambling in the State of Louisiana. Many of the restaurants and bars along major thoroughfares had slot machines which were very popular among locals and visitors though in violation of the law.

There were a total of 567 crimes reported in St. Charles Parish for the third quarter, which represents the second lowest overall total in 12 years and is an 8.5 percent decrease from the same period last year.

NORCO - The Queen of Hearts Miss, Teen, Ms. and Baby pageants will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3rd beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart School Auditorium and will coincide with the River Parishes Fall Festival being held on the grounds of Sacred Heart School in Norco on November 2nd, 3rd , and 4th.
Any single women who have never bore a child and are between the ages of 17-23, can enter. They must also reside in the state of Louisiana. The Miss entry fee is $100.00 including photogenic. The deadline to enter the Miss Division is Thursday, November 1st.
