Because of the overwhelming growth of the parish, local administrators will soon commission a comprehensive study to help the area formulate a growth management plan to direct future developmental efforts.

The St. Charles Parish Child Advocacy Service Abuse Program, which serves children who are victims of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, is looking for volunteers because of the high amount of abuse cases the organization handles yearly.

St. Charles Borromeo Fountain of Youth Ministry students, along with rescue workers, ambulance personnel and firemen participated in a mock airplane crash on Oct. 18 to help train emergency workers.
|10 percent raise finally passes

The St. Charles Parish council approved raises for 296 parish workers, which become effective immediately.

An ordinance prohibiting video bingo in St. Charles Parish will force the owners of Luling Video Bingo Palace, a hall that opened on Oct. 29, to remove all of its bingo machines if the council passes the proposal at their Nov. 5 meeting.

Amidst all of the natural disasters that have befallen us, there comes a bright spot on the planet. Greenland is growing vegetables more than ever. It is getting warmer there and, as a result, the great ice sheet in northern Greenland is melting at a more rapid pace.

A St. Rose mother and her boyfriend were arrested after authorities say they used a fake ID when registering two girls for St. Rose Elementary School.
