The West Bank pump project will finally be moving forward and construction could start as early as July. That's because St. Charles Parish has been working with project engineer Rick Shread and consultant C. J. Savoie to ensure that the project isn't overpriced this time around.

DESTREHAN - The German Coast Farmers' Market will host its second Easter parade, Kid Krewe du Market, on Saturday, March 22 at 10 a.m. on the market grounds, Ormond Plantation on River Road in Destrehan.

Children ages 8 and under are invited to dress up in costume and parade through the Market in their decorated wagons to celebrate Easter.

The wagons must be pulled by an adult and throws are to be provided by the participants.

Entry fee is $5 and registration is held at 9:30 a.m. at the sign-up table at the Market. 1st and 2nd place prizes will be awarded.

While enjoying the festivities, which also included Easter Egg Hunt, Face Painting, and a visit from the Easter Bunny, plan to shop the Market for your Easter dinner “fixins.”

Two boys were selected as All-American players from the 8-year-old St. Charles Parish All-Star team during the International Biddy Tournament held in Thibodaux.
