Emelda Hahn Donahue, age 83, born in New Orleans, passed away at her Luling residence on Friday, Nov. 23, 2007. She was the beloved wife of her dearly departed husband Lloyd "Nemo" Donahue and daughter of the late May Krieger Hahn and Fredrick John Hahn, Sr. A loving sister to Dolores H. Walker and Fredrick J. Hahn, Jr.

On either late Sunday night or early Monday morning, the Tropical Fish and More pet shop in Boutte experienced a break in. The owner suffered the loss of $700 from the previous day's earnings, and 10red-tailed baby boas worth about $100 dollars each.

A three vehicle crash over the Thanksgiving holiday claimed the life of Luling resident Meghan Stabile, who was ejected from the passenger side seat of a Toyota Celica on Nov. 26.

It only took Destrehan one quarter to lock up an appearance in the 2007 5A state championship game, as the Wildcats used 20 points in that frame, and 18 more in the second, to cruise to a 59-7 semifinal win over Westgate.
