Mark Gauthreau, 44, of 42298 N. Wood St., Gonzales, was arrested and charged with two counts of first degree attempted murder and hate crimes on Aug. 21 after he allegedly shot and wounded two Hispanic men from Texas.

Arrests
~ The following six arrests were made on Aug. 14 in the 100 Blk. of Boutte Estates Drive, Luling. Sheriff Champagne reports that the subjects below were arrested after deputies arrived at the above location due to a fight over a drug transaction. Debra Lumar, arrestee #6, allegedly gave money to Freddie Carter, arrestee #2, in an attempt to purchase crack cocaine, but was never given the cocaine.
