Cajun Dancers will perform at market

DESTREHAN - The Allemands Elementary School 2nd grade Cajun Dancers will perform at the east bank location of the German Coast Farmers’ Market at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 24. The LSU Ag Center will be taking registrations and distributing written guidelines for the Preserve Contest to be held July 10.

Cancer survivors unite

ST. CHARLES PARISH - Join the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life in St. Charles Parish survivors celebration and share your evening with fellow cancer survivors who have faced the battle with cancer and are winning. The celebration will feature food, fun and entertainment.

It will be held on Tuesday, April 27 at 5 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 375 Spruce St., Norco.

Registration will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Please RSVP to 785-1037. Each Cancer Survivor may bring one guest. There is no charge to participate.

Terrebonne hosts spring orchid show

HOUMA - The Terrebonne Orchid Society, a non-profit organization, will hold its annual Spring Orchid show on April 23, 24 and 25 at Southland Mall, 5953 West Park in Houma. The show will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on April 23 and 24, and it will be from noon to 6 p.m. on April 25. The show is open and free to the public and this year’s theme is “Super Bowl of Orchids.”

Builder picked for $1.2 million Paradis Library

The St. Charles Parish Council authorized a contract with Lamar Contractors for construction of a new Paradis library.
The library will be constructed on 1.18 acres of land that formerly housed the old Paradis Elementary School. The building will be 6,374 square feet and will cost a little over $1.2 million to complete.Read More...
