AFSP’s Night of Laughter fundraiser

DESTREHAN – The Assistance for Single Parents organization’s Night of Laughter fundraiser will be held 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3 at the Jerusalem Shriners, 1940 Ormond Blvd., Destrehan. The comedy show will include live adult comedians, a male beauty pageant, dinner and soft drinks, a silent auction, music and a photo booth. Tickets are $25 a person or $300 a table (eight people with preferential seating, host and server and decorate a table contest. $500 tables are available on a limited basis that additionally include appetizers and munchies, and a limo ride to and from the event. Meet the Professors of Hogwarts

Cajun Dancers performing at Farmers Market

LULING – The Allemands Elementary Cajun Dancers will be sharing a part of their Cajun heritage as they perform at 10 a.m. Saturday at the German Coast Farmers Market. River Region Drama Guild auditions

NORCO – The River Region Drama Guild is holding auditions for Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific with Lauren E. Michon as director, Karl Harrod as musical director and Heidi Adams as choreographer. Actors must be at least 15 years old for auditions, which will be held at the River Region Performing Arts and Cultural Center (RRPACC), 15146 River Road, Norco on Jan. 15. Free Children’s Theatre Workshop

NORCO – The River Region Drama Guild is offering students 8 to 15 years old the opportunity to learn acting skills and the chance to participate in a play. The four Theatre Workshops will be held Jan. 7 - 28 at the River Region Performing Arts and Cultural Center (RRPACC), 15146 River Road, Norco. La. Ovation Vocal Ensemble concerts, Messiah performance

Destrehan-Luling – Louisiana Ovation Vocal Ensemble’s Holiday concerts will begin Dec. 9 at St. Charles United Methodist Church, 1905 Ormond Blvd., Destrehan; Dec. 10 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 234 Angus Drive, Luling.
