It was a tragic morning in St. Charles Parish October 20, 1976 when the Luling-Destrehan ferry was struck by the 750-foot tanker Frosta and sunk. Of the 94 aboard, 78 died.

This riveting photograph has traveled the world in newspapers and e-mails read by millions of people - and no wonder: Baby Anna DiMaggio, of LaPlace, not only appears to be talking with the statue of Mary in her family's garden, her father, Andrew DiMaggio, says she WAS talking to the Virgin ... and the Virgin was talking back.

Gentlemen, parish work crews are finally cutting grass in Ormond subdivision, but let's face it, we're not seeing any real improvement. The Pipeline was cut, but only about half-way.
