|Less jail time may be better
July 12, 2013 at 12:39 pm
It is disturbing to learn that Louisiana jails a greater percentage of its citizens than any other state in the country. Hopefully, it is not because we have more criminals around but rather because our laws and practices have provided for that situation.
|World Trade Center should remain
July 03, 2013 at 7:52 am
It’s unbelievable that The Tricentennial Plan in New Orleans would provide for tearing down one of the most significant buildings in the city — the World Trade Center at the foot of Canal Street. |Internet sales taxes could change things
May 10, 2013 at 9:27 am
Sales taxes on the Internet may soon become a regular thing if a bill which passed in the U. S. Senate this week goes the rest of the way to become law. And it would be fairer to most local retailers because, at present, they have to compete against competitors on the Internet who do not have to charge customers the taxes.
