Bullying is a serious concern in the nation’s schools. It is not uncommon to hear that bullying is a part of growing up, but with national experts reporting that bullies identified at age eight are six times more likely to be convicted of a crime by age 24 and five times more likely to end up with serious criminal records by the age of 30, it is clear that the idea that this is a normal part of childhood is only a myth.

In the Jan. 18, 2007 issue of your newspaper, the St. Charles Parish school board said if voters fail to renew two separate millages on March 31, 2007, schools could go bankrupt or close and teachers might have to be fired.

Man charged with aggravated rape of 12-year-old girl - 1395 views
A 28-year-old man was arrested after he was accused of having sex with a 12-year-old girl almost three years ago.
The man’s name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
