Lewis
James “Jime” Oneil Lewis, on Monday, May 29, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. A native of Norphlet, Ark., and a resident of Luling, La. Age 82 years. Beloved husband of the late Sarah Lucille Lewis for 50 years. Father of Connie L. Cancienne, Larry Sweeny, Randy Lewis, Ronnie Lewis, and the late Bobby Glen Sweeney. Brother of Bettie L. Early. Step-brother of David Dickson. Also 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Sid and Mamie Robinson Lewis. A sister, Nadine Starr. A brother, Haskel G. Lewis. He entered the Conversation Corps before WWII and then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving as a mechanical instructor. He volunteered for Airborne Infantry duty with the 511th Airborne Infantry, commonly known as the 11th Airborne. Member of VFW, First Baptist Church, he was a deacon, member of Gideons, retired supervisor of Monsanto Chemicals. Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend funeral services at West St. Charles Baptist Church in Boutte. Interment in St. Charles Cemetery, Luling, La. Ulysse “Junior” Guillot Jr., died Monday, May 22, 2006 at 10 a.m. in Norco, La. Age 93 years. Husband of the late Cecile Cambre Guillot. Son of the late Ylysee Guillot Sr., and Laura Smith Guillot, father of Carroll Guillot, Gary Guillot, Lois Guillot Ponville, Marie Ann Guillot Ruberstel, Yulone Guillot Hebert, Jeanne Guillot Thibodeax Bates, and Emille Guillot Yokum and the late Bryan Guillot. Brother of Sidney Guillot, Lloyd Guillot, and Grace Cacienne. Preceded in death by 8 brothers and 2 sisters. He worked for Shell for 33 years. Also survived by 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A native of Labadieville, La., and a resident of Norco, La. Interment in St. Charles Catholic Church Cemetery in Destrehan, La. DeJean
Melvin A. DeJean entered peacefully into eternal rest at River Regions Hospice House on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 after a lengthy battle with cancer for the past 10 years. He was 92 years old. He was a native of Lutcher and a former resident of Norco, La. for 63 years. He was the husband of the late Inez Simon DeJean by first marriage and the late Grace DeJean by second marriage. Father and father-in-law of Patricia DeJean Costa, Mel and Carolyn W. DeJea and Dennis and Martin DeJean. Brother of Ethel DeJean Hayes and the late George, Percy, Dudley, Elwood, Roy and Harry DeJean and Gloria DeJean Brignac and Shirley DeJean Knott. He was the son of the late George and Virginia Duhe DeJean. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 30 great great grandchildren. Melvin was a retiree of Shell Oil Company in Norco. Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend funeral services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on May 13, 2006 at 11 a.m. Entombment at St. Peter Catholic Church Cemetery, Reserve, La., along side his beloved wife Inez. Lucie LeBlanc Vegas, age 92, a native of Lockport and a resident of Matthews and Luling La., died Monday, May 1, 2006. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Lucie Vegas, one sister, Mrs. Earlis (Winnie) Adams, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Sterling (Aline) Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Vegas, her parents, Salvadore and Mary Boudreaux Leblanc, her brothers, Phillip LeBlanc, George LeBlanc, Luke LeBlanc, Paul LeBlanc, and Charlie LeBlanc, her sisters, Valerie Allemand, Laura Chauvin, Rita LeBlanc, Alice Walker, Adele Uzee, and Elvire LeBlanc. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary post 3665 in Raceland. A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Hilary Catholic Church, Matthews, La., on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Savior Cemetery, Lockport, La. Dale H. Oglesby, age 61, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2006. Beloved father of Deron, Jennifer, Ashley, and Jared Oglesby. Proud grandfather of Caleb Karling and Collin Oglesby. Brother of Darrell Oglesby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman S. and Marie Barron Oglesby. A native of Verda, LA and a resident of Luling for many years. Mr. Oglesby was a retired Computer Process Engineer for Dow Chemical Company. Religious services were held at Verda Baptist Church with Rev. Roland Hebert and Rev. Douglas James officiating. Curtis O'Neal Young, 58, a native and resident of Des Allemands died Sunday February 19, 2006. Visitation will be from 9:am until 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 24, at Antioch Baptist Church in Des Allemands. The Religious service will be held at 11:00am Friday February 24, 2006 at the Church. Burial will be in the Shellmont Cemetery in Des Allemands .
He is survived by three daughters, Miranda J. Thomas and Darnisha L. Young of Luling and Carla B. Scott of Hahnville; two brothers, Thomas C. Young of Des Allemands and James A. Young of Boutte; ten sisters, Doris Y. Anderson of Destrahan, Jean Y. Thigpen, Louaidar Harris and Joann Hunter of Des Allemands, Yvonne Y. Carter, Cynthia Y. Smith, and Iris G. Young of Luling, Mydrel Y. Coleman, and Harriet T. Young of Boutte and Barbara Young of Tampa Bay, Florida; he is also survived by seven step children, and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Robinson Young; parents, Florida and Harry Young; one sister, Patricia A. Young.
He was a member of the Male Chorus and served on the Usher Board at Antioch Baptist Church. His hobbies included working on vehicles and fishing. Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.

Hazel Marie Falgout LeBlanc, age 87, died peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2006 at Canon Hospice. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years “Hyp” LeBlanc; parents, Nelson Falgout and Alfreda Walker Falgout; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Cyril Bernard; sister-in-law, Patricia Falgout; and greatgrandson, baby Gabriel Michael Brens. She is survived by sona nd daughter-in-law, Dr. Hal A. and Ann Whittaker LeBlanc; brother, Nelson J. Falgout; grandchildren: Beth and Michael Freitas, Becky and Steven Brens, Halle LeBlanc and fiance’ Jason Lowery, Hal “Beau” LeBlanc Jr. and Melissa LeBlanc; great grandchildren, Kristen, Lorrie, Victoria, Madelyn, Breland and Micah. She was a member of the Norco Homemakers Club, a charter member and several times “Woman of the Year” of the Bonnet Carre Garden Club. She loved her family, gardening, painting, and fishing. She and Hyp are together again.
