On Sept. 11, officers for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office arrested and charged Rodney Smith with two counts of cruelty to animals on a warrant that was issued in late August.

A 19-year-old New Orleans woman was arrested following Hahnville's 34-28 victory over O. Perry Walker.

Dow Chemical to shut down PXC plant

On Sept. 6 Dow Epoxy, a business unit of the Dow Chemical Company, announced that it intends to close the PXC plant at the St. Charles Operations site owned by Union Carbide Corporation in Hahnville by Oct. 31.

On Aug. 28, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that they are still pursuing the investigation regarding a 30-year-old Norco woman who said that she was attacked by an unknown man while attempting to retrieve belongings out of her vehicle.
