The volunteer group Keep Louisiana Beautiful is sponsoring its third annual anti-litter campaign weekend March 8 - 10, called “Zero Tolerance For Litter.” The effort is expected to send a strong message from enforcement agencies that litterbugs will be actively pursued and fined.

Sheriff Greg Champagne reports that at approximately, 10:00 A.M. this morning, as a group of inmates were returning into the prison from the exercise yard, one of the inmates slipped away from the group and scaled a fence topped with razor wire. He received serious injuries as a result, but was able to get away.
