Emails and phone messages went out all across St. Charles Parish to alert residents that increased police activity was part of an intense training exercise involving a Homeland Security terror drill - no one was really in danger.

Labor statistics reports show more people are working in the state and in the parish, with the Louisiana Department of Labor reporting a decline in the unemployment rate for December, the latest figures available.

Armstrong airport soars with new airline adding 12 flights per day

ExpressJet Airlines will begin service at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport this summer, offering non-stop service to Austin, San Antonio, Kansas City, Mo., Birmingham, Jacksonville, Fl., and Raleigh-Durham with 12 flights per day.
