| Leave our street alone! June 11, 2008 at 12:44 pm To the editor: District IV Councilman Paul Hogan has, for the last few months, embarked on a "crusade" to change our street name on Bayou Estates South. He cites its "similarity" to our neighboring street, Bayou Estates Drive. |

| Laque article said misleading May 29, 2008 at 1:05 pm (EDITOR’S NOTE: The following letter was written in response to an article in the Herald-Guide May 14 regarding the pending litigation brought by three former employees of the Department of Community Services whose positions were eliminated following a study by an independent consultant and recommendations by three Parish officials to the then Parish President Albert Laque.) |

| Willowridge sewage leak needs fixing May 07, 2008 at 2:12 pm To the editor: I am a resident of St. Charles Parish and have been for most of my life. When my husband and I moved back after 8 years of Navy life, we were excited to be able to purchase a home in the Willowridge Subdivision. Growing up here, I have always admired and loved the subdivision and when we purchased our small home on Laurel Court I felt beyond blessed. |

| State appointees need to work with assessors April 09, 2008 at 4:37 pm To the editor: Assessors did indeed endorse Bobby Jindal for governor. Many assessors, hopefully, will influence the new governor to appoint Tax Commission members and Board of Commerce and Industry members who will work with the assessors rather than shift the tax burden to small businesses and homeowners. |

| King march should not be a racial thing January 23, 2008 at 12:48 pm To the editor: Doubtless, the great majority of the citizens of St. Charles Parish are familiar with the ideals put forth by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, so I won't re-state them here. |

| Writer misread letter on video bingo November 28, 2007 at 2:51 pm To the Editor: I think John Landry (letter November 15) either misread or didn't understand what I said in my letter to Barry Minnich when I stated that John doesn't pay any sales tax on the rental income from his building. |

| Bingo parlor owner calls letter ridiculous November 14, 2007 at 2:38 pm To the Editor: Normally, I never respond to people making untrue statements about me, my wife, or our business. But last weeks letter to the editor from Mr. C. Martin was so ridiculous I had to respond. |

| Wanted venue for public, council input on gambling November 14, 2007 at 2:37 pm Good Morning Cletus: Like I said in the past, I'm not opposed to gaming, if that is what people want to do with their spare time and money. I introduced the ordinance that I created because I wanted to see a venue where the public and the council could have input into the process. |
|

Letter to the Editor October 11, 2007 at 10:32 am To the Editor: Rathborne Land Company has been actively involved in the effort to bring levee protection to the west bank of St. Charles Parish for many years. Despite our efforts, we have been viciously attacked by certain individuals and groups and actually accused of blocking the effort to build a hurricane protection levee. |

| Letters to the Editor September 12, 2007 at 1:58 pm Thanks for printing the article in your Lifestyles section about the stingray and my sons. | Thanks for great coverage of death August 29, 2007 at 1:33 pm To the editor: Thanks for that great coverage of the death (murder) of my cousin and outstanding citizen Mrs. Hilda Zeringue Warren of St. Rose. The photos were truly an outstanding way to honor her even though she died an uneccessary and senseless death! My hat is off to Shonna Riggs who showed compassion as she covered the story as horrendous as it was. She is to be commended along with the rest of the staff as a whole for a fine job that you normally do always. I think that I can say on behalf of myself, the family and the rest of the community - - thank you, Herald Guide, for a job well done. |
