Eight St. Charles Parish student athletes have made the cut and were named to The Times-Picayune All-Metro softball and baseball teams making them part of this week’s VIPs - Very Important Parishioners.

The River Parish Mudcats, a 12-year-old select team representing St. Charles and St. John Parishes, captured tournament championships at the Monster Slam USSSA Tournament held in Belle Chasse the weekend of April 21 to 22 and the Big Barrel Challenge held at Robert Park in Gonzales on May 6 and 7.
