The Hahnville High School football Tigers have been struggling to regain control of their season after a string of heartbreaking losses, and let's face it, folks - things aren't going to get any easier with unbeaten Destrehan and always-tough Assumption on tap over the next two "do-or-die" weeks.

What’s next for 5-2 Hahnville? A key District 5-5A match-up against the 3-4 John Ehret Patriots, that’s what. Games don’t get any bigger than this as the Tigers desperately need a district win. If they get caught looking ahead to their showdown with undefeated 7-0 Destrehan a week down the road - and lose to the Patriots - their playoff hopes dim. My prediction? I expect Hahnville to bounce back - and jump right back into the district race.

Although the Destrehan Wildcats won their first district game on Friday and improved to 6-0 on the season, they lost a crucial piece of their offense on the first play of the game. After throwing an incomplete pass, quarterback Jordan Jefferson collided with an Ehret defender and broke his wrist. He then left the game and had surgery later on in the night. Head Coach Steve Robicheaux said that there is a possibility that Jefferson could return late in the season, but he is out for the foreseeable future.
