The St. Charles Striders of the Amateur Athletic Union have qualified 34 track and field athletes to participate in the Junior Olympics in Knoxville, Tenn from July 27 until August 4.

The 9-10 Mimosa Voo Doo Dolls' season ended during the end of the season tournament in mid June, but the girls fought hard through double elimination, live pitching, and Louisiana's summer heat.

Summer League Baseball: Boys
Season Update: This summer the boys are racking up some playing time on the field with games almost every other day agianst various competitive teams in the area. Recently on the line-up, the Tigers played Grace King, the Southland Hogs, and most recently Bonnebell High. Outstanding performances go to Adam Risinger for solid pitching, Ryan Waters for hitting a grandslam, the second of his high school baseball career, and Colby Broussard for excellent defense tactics. It is must see event, and the Tigers need all of their fans’ support. This weekend, June 22-24, the Tigers will travel to Foley to play in a competitive tournament agianst teams from around the South.

St. Charles Parish: Property tax only way to fund levee - 690 views
St. Charles Parish officials pitched two millage tax proposals to fund sewage improvements and a hurricane protection levee system at Tuesday’s first parishwide community meeting, but area residents suggested imposing a convenience fee so everyone shares the cost.
