St. Rose's Travis Burke has more than just a good reason to pat himself on the back. After all, this Archbishop Rummel High School senior snagged first place in the 189-pound category last weekend at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association's State Wrestling Tournament.

The "HEAT" is on for the Mimosa 7-8 year old division basketball team who were named champions of the 1st Annual St. Charles Parish Classic on November 30 and December 1, 2007 and the 1st Annual Christmas Classic on December 27 and 28, 2007. The Boutte Booster Club sponsored both tournaments.

ON THE RUN.Runners and walkers from all across the Louisiana traveled to Destrehan to participate in the state’s largest race, the “Wall - Louisiana State 30K Championship” In the end 25 people were awarded special plaques in honor of their performance in the marathon. See the 2008 results below.

Former Hahnville High School all-state running back Darius Reynaud, who has enjoyed a stellar college career at West Virginia, has decided to leave the Mountaineers a year early and throw his name in to the 2008 April draft according to his mother, Katrina.
