It seems almost like a bad novel to write, but the good feeling of the past four weeks for the New Orleans Saints were done in by two former members of the New Orleans Saints in quarterback Marc Bulger and former New Orleans Saints head coach Jim Haslett, now the defensive coordinator for the St. Louis Rams.

Not only did the LSU Tigers gain sole possession of the No.1 rating in both the Coaches’ poll and BCS standings this past weekend, but they also secured the services of the top rated prep quarterback in the state of Louisiana.

Hahnville seems to be peaking at just the right time. The Tigers strutted out to a 42-0 halftime lead over Huntington last week before dispatching the Raiders by a 56-8 score to advance to the second round of the 2007 Class 5A state playoffs.

It took a while for the remnants of the 2006 version of the New Orleans Saints to reappear back out on the football field in 2007, but when the Saints defeated one of the most physical teams in the NFL this past Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars, you can now say the catch-phrase from the 1986 movie Poltergeist II, ‘They’re Back.’

After building big leads in each of their previous contest, the Hahnville Tigers had to come from behind to pick up their seventh win of the season, using a last second field goal by Brandon Larousse to defeat Dutchtown 17-14.

For the third straight week, Destrehan needed their defense to come through in the closing minutes of a game, and for the third straight week, the defense delivered.
