After cruising to big wins in their first five games of the season, the Destrehan Wildcats have found themselves fighting for their lives in their last two contests, both of which the team still managed to win.

The Hahnville Tigers didn't dwell too long on their double-overtime, 31-24 loss to rival Destrehan. Instead, they bullied East Ascension last week, scoring at will offensively while shutting down the Spartans on defense for a 41-6 victory.

Nelson’s versatility leads Destrehan to 5-0 mark

Last week, it seemed like Destrehan's Jerico Nelson was playing every position on the football field. Not only did the senior rush for 56 yards and a pair of touchdowns in his team's 30-14 win over John Ehret, but he also threw for a 72-yard touchdown that helped ice the victory.

The LSU Tigers struggled with a pesky Tulane football team this past Saturday, especially in the first half of action, but a strong second half of the game propelled the second-ranked Tigers to a 34-9 win over the Green Wave.

Hahnville was clicking in all phases of the game during last week's 55-14 rout of John McDonogh, scoring 35 points in the first quarter alone to help the team remain undefeated on the season.
