Cataouche fishing isn’t backing down. On Sunday, part-time fishing guide Michael Becnel took friends Lauren Lemmon (top) and Adam Lorio fishing on Lake Cataouche to catch these slab-sized crappie. “I’ve never seen action like this -- ever!” said Becnel who lives in Luling and works for Dow Chemical. Becnel has fished the St. Charles Parish lake all his life but has never caught fish like this in the brackish-water lake.

On the evening of Saturday, June 9, six cadets from Destrehan High School AFJROTC were packing and thinking about what a week at the South Carolina Cadet Officer Leadership School (COLS) was going to be like. COLS is held at the beginning of June every year at The Citadel in South Carolina.
