Presidential Preference and Party Election

St. Charles Parish – The upcoming March 5th Presidential Preference Primary is a closed party primary by the choice of the Democrat and Republican parties in Louisiana. That means that only Democrats will vote for candidates on the Democratic Party Ballot and only Republicans will vote for Republican candidates on the Republican Party Ballot. If you are registered as: No Party, None, Other party, Green, Reform or Libertarian party member you will not be eligible to vote in the Presidential Preference Party Primary on March 5. ARC annual festival

LULING – The ARC of St. Charles will hold its 15th Annual Arc Fest Feb. 26 - 28 at West Bank Bridge Park in Luling. The festival will be held in conjunction with the St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation’s annual kickoff baseball tournament. The festival will be held on Friday from 5 - 9 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The ARC of St. Charles is also seeking volunteers to assist with this event. LULING – The St. Charles Women’s Club is offering scholarships to residents graduating high school. The scholarships will be awarded to students continuing their education in either a four-year program, two-year program, technical or vocational schools. St. John Theatre holding auditions

Reserve – St. John Theatre will present “Broadway on da Bayou,” a Broadway style variety show.  Auditions will take place between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the theater in Reserve.  Callbacks will be held on 6:30 p.m. Jan 31. Directors Alina Casero and Kate Kuen will hear all auditioners who appear. Auditioners should prepare a song, scene, skit, monologue, dance, rap, or reading with a Broadway theme although all acts will be considered.  Selections should be no longer than four minutes. Show dates are March 3, 4 and 5. LULING – The Krewe of Lul is scheduled to roll at noon Feb. 6. Meeting dates and entry fees have also been announced.
