	Banquet will benefit shelter for abused women, children February 25, 2012 at 9:28 am BOUTTE - The Alpha Daughters of Zion is sponsoring a fundraiser banquet on Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. All proceeds will go toward maintaining a shelter for women and children who are victims of domestic violence or who are homeless. Featured guests are Dr. Marilyn Diggs, Patrice Wilson of Houston, Texas and One Accord. Tickets to the event are $25 and it will be held in the John L. 	Not too late to join Krewe of Des Allemands February 19, 2012 at 9:38 am DES ALLEMANDS - The Krewe of Des Allemands will roll down the traditional route at 1 p.m. on Feb. 19. 	Dance to Mardi Gras with Oldies but Goodies February 19, 2012 at 9:37 am NORCO - Join the Oldies But Goodies dance and social club for a Mardi Gras dance to raise money for Kassidy Terrio. The dance will be held Feb. 19 at the KC Home, 375 Spruce St. in Norco. Admission is $5 per person and participants are asked to bring entrees, side dishes, salads or desserts. Line dancing will go from 3-4 p.m. and general dancing will be from 4-8 p.m.

	New support group for parents of AD/HD children February 14, 2012 at 10:09 am DESTREHAN - Join a new support group for parents of AD/HD children. The group will meet the second Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Destrehan library, 160 W. Campus Drive. This is an opportunity to learn about AD/HD, assess treatment options and strategies, and strengthen family relationships.Guest speakers will include doctors and specialists.

	DJ Magic at VFD teen dance February 11, 2012 at 9:36 am DES ALLEMANDS - The Des Allemands Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a Teen Dance on Feb. 11 from 7-11 p.m. for ages 11-16. Entry is $5 and concessions will be sold. Music will be by DJ Magic.

	Krewe of G-old Timers host Mardi Gras dance February 10, 2012 at 9:36 am ST. ROSE - The Council on Aging will host its annual Mardi Gras Dance on Feb. 10 from 1-4 p.m. at the American Legion Hall Post 366, 12188 River Road in St. Rose. This year the organization is proud to introduce their new krewe, the Krewe of G-old Timers. All parish seniors over 60 are invited to attend.
