The Louisiana Ovation Vocal Ensemble is looking for new members as it begins its 2017 Fall season of “Christmas In The Movies”. The chorus, under the direction of Brian Martinez Jr., is open to all, from middle school age to adults. Rehearsals are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month, 7 – 9 p.m., at Lakewood Elementary School, 501 E. Heather Drive, Luling. No auditions or previous experience necessary. East Regional Library, 160 West Campus Drive, Destrehan will host a viewing of a Planet Earth documentary on the oil spill, as well as a discussion of the efforts of the Coastal Waters Consortium to study the effects of the oil on the environment.
