Tigers fall to St. Paul's in regionals By Eric LeBlanc The Hahnville Tigers’ playoff road ended Monday afternoon in Covington as the St. Paul’s Wolves defeated them 4-2 in the regional round. The Tigers were the first to score in the top of the first when left fielder Aramie Melancon was awarded first base on a catcher’s interference call. He then took second on a wild pitch and later scored on an error. But in the bottom of the first, the Wolves took the lead right back. A double and a home run gave St. Paul’s a 2-1 lead, which held until the top of the fifth. Designated hitter Jordan Frickey led off the top of the fifth with a single. He then reached third on a wild pitch and a fielder’s choice. And second baseman Steven Burns drove him in with a sacrifice fly to tie the game. But St. Paul’s rallied in the bottom of the inning as a single, a walk and an error led to a two-run single and a 4-2 St. Paul’s victory. With the loss, the Tigers finish the season with an overall record of 31-4, an undefeated district season and a district championship. Graduating seniors include Jordan Brown, Steven Burns, Jake Champagne, Jessie Dunn, Brad Fonseca, Daron Friloux, Raymond Guedry, Charlie Harrell, Andrew Hickman, Chris Lanaux, Ryne Madere, Aramie Melancon and Adam White.
