Lumar receives top River Parish honor

Four parish girls, two boys named to All-River Parishes Basketball Team

Hahnville head coach Brian Lumar was recognized this week by the Times-Picayune by being named River Parishes Boys Coach of the Year. Six parish players were also recognized by being named to the All-River Parishes Team.

Lumar led the Hahnville Tigers to a district championship this season. He also guided them to the regional round of the state playoffs.

Destrehan and Hahnville each had two girls selected to the girls’ team. Lady Cats Amber Eugene and Shanna Richard were honored as well as Lady Tigers Marquita Hill and Whitney Scott.

On the boys’ side, the Wildcats honoree was Trey Montgomery while Reginald Lumar was honored from the Tigers.
