Lumar named District Coach of the Year

Hahnville head boys basketball coach Brian Lumar was recently honored by District 6-5A by being named their Coach of the Year. Seven other players from Destrehan and Hahnville were also honored on the boys and girls All-District Teams.

Lumar led the Hahnville Tigers to a district championship this season and an overall 25-7 record. He also guided them to the regional round of the state playoffs.

Honored on the boys All-District First Team were Destrehan’s Trey Montgomery and Hahnville’s Reginald Lumar and Brian Singleton.

Honored on the girls All-District First Team were Destrehan’s Amber Eugene and Shana Richard and Hahnville’s Marquita Hill and Whitney Scott.
