At the end of each April,

Lockett slam door on Central
A basketball team needs
big men to get inside for rebounds and to score from short range at
times. But it was the Hahnville Tigers’ big men, Irvin Humphrey and
Kentrell Lockett, that carried the team to a fourth quarter surge
and a 55-46 victory Friday night against the Central Lafourche Trojans.

Hahnville's first half of

Tigers
close out season with near upset
The Thibodaux Tigers came
into Tuesday night’s matchup with the opportunity to clinch at least
a share of the district championship. But the Hahnville Tigers also
had something to play for: a playoff spot. The Tigers needed a win
and a Terrebonne loss to have a chance to grab one of the few wild
card spots in the state playoffs. But it was not to be as Thibodaux
led most of the way and took a 68-58 win. |

the Yellow Jackets seem primed to make some noise well into March.
However, one of the keys to the team's success can be traced back
to a quiet decision made last spring. |
