Lady Tigers pillage Lady Buccaneers

On a bitter cold Thursday night the Lady Tigers came out on fire, lighting up the Lady Buccaneers of West Jeff in a 10-0 shutout. With the win, the District 6-5A Champion Hahnville Lady Tigers (15-4-2, 8-0) advance in the playoffs to the regional round.

Freshman Ashley Eusea boosted Hahnville to an early lead when she scored her 50th goal of the season. Eusea went on to add her 51st, 52nd and 53rd of the year, all before the first half ended. Senior Brittany Aucoin added a score to give Hahnville a 5-0 halftime lead. Nearly the entire half was played on West Jefferson's side of the field as the aggressive Lady Tigers dominated play.

The Lady Buccaneers would find it no easier in the second half of play.

Hahnville's Brianne Childress added to the lead with a score less than 10 minutes into the second half. Chelsi Bourgeois and Maegan Watson added two more to give Hahnville a commanding 8-0 lead. Jennifer Madere added to the score with a nice goal and Ashley Dufrene finished the scoring with a goal late in the contest. Samantha May and Luisa Sigueira both contributed with assists in the game.

With the victory, Hahnville advances to meet the winner of the Slidell and Chapelle matchup.
