Great Scott

Senior Whitney Scott scores 22 in rout of Terrebonne

The Hahnville Lady Tigers finished up their season Friday night with a bang, defeating the Terrebonne Lady Tigers 64-38. Hahnville senior Whitney Scott also put an exclamation point on the end of her career as a Lady Tiger with 22 points.

Scott also had five steals and five rebounds in the game. Leading Hahnville in rebounds was Marquita Hill with 10. Hill also scored nine points. Following them were Kaswana Isaac and Jazzlyn Young with seven points each. Isaac also had five rebounds.

The first quarter was much closer than the rest of the game. Scott and Hill each had four points, leading Hahnville to a 15-13 first quarter lead.

Then, the girls stepped up and pounded on Terrebonne offensively and defensively in the second. Hahnville limited Terrebonne to just two points in the second while scoring 16 of their own to go into halftime with a 31-15 lead. Scott led the second quarter charge with eight points.

Terrebonne came back with 13 points in the third quarter, but Hahnville kept cruising with 14 points. Cheyney Hill led the third quarter with four points.

And then in the fourth, the girls battled hard and put up 19 points to seal a 26-point victory.

Also contributing to the game were Danielle Douglas with four points and three rebounds, Cheyney Hill with four points, Shunta Isaac with four points, Kyla Thomas with four points, Renata Brown with two points and six rebounds and Kiera Davis with one point.

With the victory, Hahnville finishes the season with an overall record of 20-15 and a district record of 9-7. Graduating seniors include Marquita Hill, Kaswana Isaac, Whitney Scott and Jazzlyn Young.
