Hahnville golf team wins regional

The Hahnville Tiger boys golf team won the Division I, Region III Championship on Tuesday, successfully defending last year’s victory.

Senior Dustin Petit was the individual champion by two strokes, scoring a 73. Teammates Dayton Bordelon and Seth Dufrene both followed Petit with second-place scores of 75. Hahnville’s Andrew Noto placed fourth with a score of 78 while Derek Bonvillain placed seventh with an 84.

All five Hahnville golfers qualified for the state tournament.

Hahnville as a team, finished with a first place score of 301. They were followed by South Lafourche (330), Terrebonne (336), Central Lafourche (361), H.L. Bourgeois (398), Thibodaux (415) and Ellender (473).

The state tournament will be held on May 2 and 3 in Baton Rouge.
