Berthelot, Brady, Flores, Minnich, Troxler named to All-District First Team

District 6-5A released its All-District Teams this week and Destrehan and Hahnville totaled 16 players honored, including five on the first team.

Destrehan’s Courtney Berthelot was named to the first team at third base after batting .377 with two home runs, five doubles and 17 hits in district play. At shortstop, Hahnville’s Annie Minnich was named to the first team after batting .519 with 18 runs scored, 15 RBIs and six stolen bases in district play. In the outfield Destrehan’s Kacie Brady and Hahnville’s Karla Troxler were honored on the first team. Brady batted .450 with a home run and 24 hits in district while Troxler batted .385 with 22 runs scored and 19 stolen bases in district play. And Hahnville’s Chelsey Flores was honored at utility on the first team after batting .354 with 15 runs scored, seven RBIs and a 13-2 pitching record in district play.

The Lady Cats and Lady Tigers were also honored on the second team with five selections. Flores was honored at pitcher on the second team along with Destrehan’s Julianne Beaugh who had a 9-5 record in district play. Honored at catcher was Hahnville’s Meghan Vial who batted .421. And honored in the outfield were Destrehan’s Kaci Wilson who batted .456 and Hahnville’s Lela Clowers who batted .377.

Destrehan also had three players who were given an honorable mention to the team. Those players were catcher Shannon Clark, second baseman Katie Lassere and shortstop Gabrielle Roy. Hahnville also had three players who were given an honorable mention. Those players were outfielder Dara Fontenot, third baseman Ariel Romero and second baseman Gina Sierra.

Central Lafourche’s Leslie Bourgeois was the District MVP while the Lady Trojan’s Chris Walker was the Coach of the Year.
