Evelyn S. Myers

Evelyn S. Myers, 74, passed away on Sept. 23, 2011. She was a native of Gulfport, Miss. and daughter of the late William and Wilma Scheeler.

She had resided in Luling since 1965. She graduated from Our Lady of Victories High School in Pascagoula, Miss. She retired from Union Carbide, where she worked as a Unit Accountant manager for 20 years. She also worked for the St. Charles Parish School Board for eight years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and past president of the Knights of Columbus Council #2409 Ladies Auxiliary.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth G. “Jerry” Myers Sr., three sisters, Patricia Scheeler, Elizabeth O’Brien and Carolyn Green; and her husband’s parents, Kenneth and Melva Myers. She is survived by her three sons, Kenneth “Jerry” Myers Jr. (wife Dianne), John Myers (wife Jacquelynne) and James Myers (wife Tammie); three daughters, Linda Myers Dugas (husband Harry), Brenda Myers Brown and Sheila Myers Maheu (husband Mark); 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, William Scheeler (wife Ellen), and her husband’s brother, Robert “Bob” Myers (wife Diana).


Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Sept. 27,  at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling with a Rite of Committal to follow at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery.
