Players are flighted according to their handicap with more than 100 golfers playing in each of the tournament's approximately 39 flights. At the conclusion of the four rounds, flight winners advance to the 18-hole championship playoff at the renowned Dunes Golf and Beach Club on Fri., Sept. 1.

"We welcomed Mr. Reinschmit to the 23rd annual World Am, said Steve Mays, Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday's tournament director. "The PGA Tour Superstore World Amateur Handicap Championship is the Every Day Golfer's U.S. Open and we are looking forward to the largest World Am since the 2001 tournament when we welcomed 4,675 golfers to the Grand Stand. The effort and preparation invested in the months leading up to this year's tournament will result in the organized, positive event that our golfers expect," he concluded.

I love participating in this golfing event. I have participated for seven years and every year when it is over I begin looking forward to the next year. I have met all kinds of people in Myrtle Beach. It is a lot of fun, said Reinschmit.
