This just in: Over the Mardi Gras holidays the boys didn't skip a beat after playing Jesuit, 12 to HHS 1, on Monday, Feb. 19.
Hot Hands: Pitcher Garrett Loupe, Junior, threw an exceptional game against Jesuit and had a hit in the 4th inning to right field that helped rally the boys' spirits.
Spark Plug: Wesley Thigpen, senior catcher, also made a tremendous effort in the 4th inning after Loupe's double when he slammed the ball into left field and also running a double.
Weakness: "Letting the first pitch strikes go by really affects our batting strategies because, instead of waiting for our "perfect" pitch we have to hit what we're given by the other team's pitcher." - Ryan Waters, sophomore.
Up Next: The Tigers will participate in the Varsity East Ascension tournament Feb. 22 to 25 and hopefully make some waves in the rankings among various high schools.Girls Softball
This just in: The Lady Tiger Softball team has been working extremely hard to start off their district games beginning mid.- Feb.
Hot Hands: Senior Dara Fontenot has shown impressive leadership on and off the field.Girls Basketball
This just in: The Lady Tigers traveled to Monroe Feb. 15 to play in the play- off game and came out victorious.
Hot Hands: Danielle Douglas, junior, played an outstanding game offensively and defensively to shut down the opposing team and give the Lady Tigers some well earned points.
Spark Plug: Kyra Thomas, junior, also gave it her all on the court that night and led the team in scoring. Kudos to all of the Lady Tiger players who are on the road to the final game.
Would be better if: The girls have worked so hard this season to go home now, the only down fall would be if they were to lose focus on the main goal. Nobody wants it more than these girls, and they have earned it too.
