The Pursuit of Mary Bennet, written by Pamela Mingle, tells the story of Mary Bennet, the middle sister in Jane Austen’s famous Bennet family in Pride and Prejudice.
In Pride and Prejudice, Mary Bennet is the middle daughter of five and an awkward girl. Her whole life, she has hidden behind the shadows of her sisters, and her family has never given thought that she may have a suitor.
Mr. Walsh is supposed to be suiting Kitty, but he pays Mary more attention. After revealing a secret to Mary, she is hesitant to accept his hand in marriage. But her family is hiding their own share of secrets around the youngest daughter, Lydia. Will Mary and Mr. Walsh be able to overlook their flaws from the past to discover the love they have for each other?
I thoroughly enjoyed The Pursuit of Mary Bennet. Mary Bennet is finally given the chance to shine and be her own person. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed Pride and Prejudice and would like the story to continue.
