St. Charles VFW Post 3750 honored at state convention

West St Charles VFW Post 3750 was recently honored at the 82nd State Convention by being named an All-State Team Post.

Post 3750 was one of 12 posts receiving this honor. It is the first time since 1996 that Post 3750 received All-State Honors. 

To become an All-State Post you must achieve 100 percent in membership, complete the required amount of community service projects, support school activities and assist needy veterans. 

New officers  were also elected for VFW Post 3750 and are as follows: Commander – Bobby Lovergne Senior Vice Commander, – Perry Muller Junior Vice Commander – Joe Durr Quartermaster, – Merlin Edler, Judge Advocate – Wilton Hue, Surgeon – Iven Naquin, Chaplain – Garret Candies, Adjutant – Susan Bourgeois, three year Trustee – Stede Paladang, two year Trustee – James Estay and one year Trustee – Juan Gonzales.

Post Commander Bobby Lovergne was elected as Commander of District 2 for the State of Louisiana, Perry Muller will serve as District 2 Judge Advocate and Joe Durr will serve as District 2 Surgeon. 

In addition, the VFW Post has installed a flag receptacle box in front of the Post Hall on Angus Drive in Luling for all residents of St. Charles Parish to bring damaged and destroyed flags for proper disposal. The flags will be ceremoniously destroyed and disposed of with respect to the flag.

VFW Post 3750 thanked Martinís Nursery for donating plants and manpower to improve the front appearance of the post home as well as Dealer Serviceís for the custom paint job done by Graphics by Kal on the flag receptacle.
