Spring craft and antique fair

By Staff Report - April 6, 2013

DESTREHAN - A Spring craft fair will be hosted by the Mexico Mission Team of St. Charles United Methodist Church on April 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature food and crafts. Booth rental start at $35. Call the church at (985)764-8292 for application.

They promise to have lots of items to help you with Mother’s and Father’s Day shopping, graduations, dance recitals and teacher appreciation along with items to spruce up your home. Vendors will have handmade jewelry, beauty supplies, wreaths, home décor, LSU and Saints items, children’s bows, dresses, purses, baby items, embroidery items, dog wear, bags, coffee, tea, hand poured candles, outdoor furniture, wood art, photography, key rings, crosses and toys.

Concessions will be available for the entire day.

The proceeds raised at the craft fair will go towards the church’s Mexico Missions. Each year, church members travel to Mexico with a construction and medical team and set up clinics in the local churches. They also assist the local churches in treating people in the area.

The church will also be accepting food for their Matthew 25:35 Food Pantry. They host a food bank all year with an emphasis on Thanksgiving baskets. Each year the church serves hundreds of families in conjunction with the Community Service Department of St. Charles Parish, Senior Citizens Community Center, the local Red Cross and area schools.

The fair will be held at St. Charles United Methodist Church at 1905 Ormond Blvd. in Destrehan.
