Former Destrehan High School standout wide receiver/return specialist Damaris Johnson established a new Philadelphia Eagles record Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys.
In the closing moments of the 38-33 loss to the Cowboys, Johnson returned a punt 98 yards for a touchdown.
The touchdown was the longest punt return for a score in franchise history and the third longest punt return in NFL history.
Johnson, who is a reserve wide receiver, also caught one pass for 13 yards in the contest.
The NCAA all-purpose record holder for total yardage in a career has seen quite a bit of action over the last few weeks in a reserve role, but the Philadelphia Eagles, who were considered Super Bowl contenders when the season started, have been a major disappointment.
Still, Johnson has made an impact as a rookie this year, with 13 catches for 203 yards.
