Father Antone of St. Mark Church in Ama is holding a nightly holy hour from 6:30-7:30 p.m. throughout the month of October. Jesus is exposed in the Eucharist and the faithful gather with Mary, the Mother of God, to pray, love and adore Him.
"The Eucharist is the source and summit of the whole Christian life," says Vatican II.
Catholics believe that Jesus, who is the Divine Savior, healer and redeemer of all of humanity, is present body, blood, soul and divinity in the form of bread.
"Is anyone suffering physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually? The answer to all of life’s woes has been made available to us. God has set up His throne here on earth among us. He is truly present in the Most Holy Eucharist," says Lilla Marie Lottinger, a Missionary of our Mother of the Eucharist. "It is a matter of us believing as the hemorrhaging woman who reached out and touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and was healed. We turn to God, present in the Eucharist, with the disposition of Mary; we surrender to him and invite Him to take over our lives and heal us as He sees fit.
"In this we are formed more and more in the fullness of who we were created to be."
Father Antone encouraged residents to take part in the holy hour.
"Please come and spend time with Jesus and Mary," he said. "It is the most important thing you can do in this life to prepare for the next,."
