The Hahnville softball team improved to 3-0 in district play after destroying East St. John and Higgins by identical 16-0 scores last week.
Against East St. John, the Lady Tigers scored two runs in the first, 10 runs in the second and four more in the third to end the game by the mercy rule. Summer Melancon finished with four RBIs on three hits, while Courtney Dutreix and Megan Bush chipped in with two RBIs.
Hope Mair, Alexandra Friloux, Taylor Hogan and Lauren Simar also brought in runs in the game. Hannah Haydel got the win from the mound giving up only three hits in the shutout.
A day later, Hahnville blew past Higgins by scoring 15 runs in the first inning and one in the second. The game was also ended by the mercy rule in the third inning.
Bush led the team from the plate with four RBIs and a double. Amye Barre finished with three RBIs and a double, while Dutreix, Melancon, Friloux, Hogan, Simar and Caitlyn Robinson brought in runs.
Haydel got the win, allowing no hits in three innings of work.
Hahnville will host John Ehret on Thursday at 4 p.m. before taking part in the North-South challenge over the weekend.
