HHS leaders team up
From staff and wire reports - Oct 20, 2011
Anna Busalachi, Emily Bell and Lydia Chiasson recently attended the Louisiana site of the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar. The three Hahnville High students joined more than 100 other young leaders from high schools throughout the state.
The seminar was held at the West Baton Rouge Conference Center, bringing together a select group of rising juniors from public and private high schools to interact with groups of distinguished leaders in business, government, education and other professions to discuss present and future issues. The goal was to provide the students a stimulating forum for learning about critical issues while broadening their understanding of their leadership potential and quest for self-development. Leaders were also challenged to return to their communities to perform at least 100 hours of community service within 12 months following the seminar.
Since 1958, the seminar program has been a part of more than 400,000 student lives, many of whom continue to volunteer on seminar planning committees, in their local communities and schools to keep the spirit alive throughout the years.
