Speeders make Maryland Drive dangerous Letters to the Editor - Apr 07, 2011
Dear Editor, On almost a daily basis I would call the St. Charles Parish Sheriffs Office to report the speeding and to request that a deputy be sent out so that it was on record as to the speeding problems we were having. I also attempted at one time to have a three-way stop installed at Maryland Drive and West Heather. Nothing was ever done. Maryland Drive is the only street in Mimosa Park that does not have a stop sign midway down the street. Therefore, there is much more traffic on Maryland Drive because you don’t have to stop half way down the street. I feel the recent addition of a “speed table” on Monsanto Avenue will only make Maryland Drive worse!! My children are now grown; but I feel I must resume my crusade for the new neighborhood children. If you are going to put up stop signs, make them uniform. If you are going to put up speed tables, make them uniform. Sincerely, Read More Stories at HeraldGuide.com! |
