Shane Helds, 26, Destrehan

During the course of March, Shane Helds contacted his ex-girlfriend multiple times by phone and via text messages. Helds, 26, was looking to retrieve some personal items after the relationship dissolved.

According St. Charles Sheriff's Office reports, specifically, Helds, of 123 Ormond Village Dr., Destrehan, was asking for his computer and pornography collection to be returned from his ex-girlfriend. As Helds' ex-girlfriend was retrieving the items, she noticed a hiding place where several DVDs and CDs were stored.
After a cursory viewing of the material, she was alarmed by the images on the hidden videos, as they contained children engaging in sexual acts with adult males. The illicit videos also contained children engaging in sexual acts alone.

Following Helds' ex-girlfriend seeing the videos, she alerted parish police. Immediately thereafter, an investigation was launched by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office.

On Wednesday July 26, Helds was arrested and booked accordingly. As of Thursday, following the decision by Judge Chaisson, he is being held without bond in the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center. Shane Helds is charged with 23 counts of pornography involving a juvenile. If convicted, Held faces up to $10,000 fine and 2-10 years for each count.
