St. Charles to honor former councilman Johnson first African-American on parish council By Staff Report - Jun 15, 2006
St. Charles Parish President Albert D. Laque and Council Chairman Brian Fabre today announced that former Councilman Curtis T. Johnson, Sr. will be recognized for his service to St. Charles Parish at the June 19, 2006 Parish Council Meeting. "Curtis was the first African-American elected to the Police Jury and to the Parish Council," said Laque.
