A seminar to address business incentives offered through the Gulf Opportunity Zone Act is scheduled for Wednesday, May 24 at the Houma Civic Center.

The event is regionally focused and targeted to serve companies in the parishes of Assumption, Lafourche, St. Mary and Terrebonne. The half-day event will bring in experts to address each of the components of the GO Zone incentives.

Presenters will include the Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Housing and Urban Development, Louisiana Economic Development, private firms involved in bond financing and tax credits, South Louisiana Economic Council, Terrebonne Economic Development Authority, St. Mary Parish Economic Development, Lafourche Parish Economic Development, local banks and CPAs.

Go Zone incentives are designed to stimulate the rebuilding and revitalization of Louisiana through tax and financing incentives in support of new project developments. These incentives include tax-exempt bond financing for new investment and favorable tax accounting for both new property and Katrina-related expenses.
