St. Charles Operations is proud to announce its 2006 Educational Enhancement School Grant Program," said Stanley Dufrene, community relations manager.

Ten grants valued at $2,000 each will be awarded to schools in St. Charles Parish for projects which promote academic excellence in the areas of science and mathematics. Grant applications have been mailed to school principals, librarians, and Science Department Heads at each school in St. Charles Parish.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 4 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2006. Educators are invited to submit applications according to program guidelines. Only one application per school may be submitted. Grant applications must be submitted to Karen Davis, St. Charles Operations, Union Carbide Corporation, A Subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company, P.O. Box 50, Hahnville, LA 70057.

Applications will be evaluated on a competitive basis by a Grants Review Panel composed of representatives from business, education, and the community at large. Winners will be announced in May.
