Hilda Rita Ponvelle Arabie died at 82 on Friday, Oct. 19 in Destrehan. She passed away peacefully with family by her side, to who she was a devoted wife and mother.

She was the wife of Alceste A. Arabie, Sr. Daughter of the late Leonard and Connealue Constant Ponvelle. Mother of Wayne P. Arabie, Sr., Alceste A. Arabie, Jr., Eudolia M. Arabie, Allison A. Subervielle, Barbara A. Donaldson and Brenda A. Saucier. Sister of Harry Ponvelle, Enola P. Goulas and the late Inez P. Roundtree. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Oct. 22 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans.

Visitation is at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 21 and at St. Charles Borromeo from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday.
