By Staff Report - Oct 11, 2007
Homeschool students from the River Parishes, Kenner and Metairie attended a Communicators for Christ Speech and Debate Conference.
Recognizing that communication skills are essential to every child’s complete education, CFC was founded to help Christian homeschool students of all ages to become cultural communicators.
Students ages 7 years to 11 years attending the one day Beginning Public Speaking Conference were Noella Balint of Kenner, Seth and Christian McCloud of St. Rose, Hannah McCloud of Destrehan, Jake Northington of Luling, Joelle and Caleb Chauhan of Metairie, and Nathan and Ragan Duck of LaPlace.
Students ages 12 years to 18 years attending the two day Public Speaking Conference and/or the two day Debate Conference were Kierstin Baker of Hahnville, Cameron Brock of Bayou Gauche, Aaron McCloud of Destrehan, Meagan and Elora LaRive, Kasey and Kelsey McGill and Keaton Northington of Luling, Bonnie Mulholland of Metairie, Samuel Shaw of Folsom, and Kellie Duck of LaPlace.
To further develop their communication skills many of these students will participate in weekly club meetings. Once the students have polished several speeches they will participate in tournament competition or enter their communities as cultural communicators.
