Saints players visit St. Charles Borromeo
Special to the Herald-Guide - May 17, 2007
St. Charles Borromeo School in Destrehan held their annual All Sports Athletic Banquet, which honored the following teams: flag football, volleyball, boys and girls basketball, baseball, softball, cheerleading, and dance team.
Returning to his elementary school roots was the New Orleans Saints wide receiver Coach Curtis Johnson.
In attendance with Coach Johnson were Saints players Michael Lewis, Dante Ridgeway and Lance Moore.
Coach Johnson talked to the students about his strong religious beliefs, discipline, leadership and respect for his parents.
He shared his life growing up and attending St. Charles Borromeo School.
Coach Johnson talked about having to make choices and following the path that has already been paved for you.
His words of wisdom to the student were “God gave you two eyes, two ears, and one mouth. You should spend more time looking and listening and less time talking.”
