See what the NOISE is all about
- join the COMMUNITY BAND
By Staff Report - Feb 08, 2007
The St. Charles Community Band is looking for new adult members, especially woodwinds and percussion, who have had at least some high school band experience.
In the past, the band has played music from Broadway shows, music from the pop/rock world, and marches of all kinds, especially those of John Philip Sousa.
The members have played in concerts at Hahnville High School, a joint concert with the Bayou Community Band (Thibodaux) at the World War II/D-Day Museum, and Christmas concerts with members from other New Orleans area community bands at Loyola University.
It is made up of people from all walks of life, including engineers, teachers, and homemakers.
The members enjoy getting together to continue their band experience. The band is beginning rehearsals for its spring concert scheduled for May 2007.
The band meets on most Mondays in the Hahnville High School band room at 7 p.m. Anyone wanting more information on this fun-loving group should contact David Rosenthal, director, at HHS, 985-758-2562.
