Lady Wildcats rebound with 4 straight victories

The Destrehan Lady Wildcats (11-5) rebounded from a tough loss to district rival Hahnville to beat South Lafourche, Comeaux, North Desoto and Leesville last week.
Destrehan 15 South Lafourche 0
The Lady Wildcats exploded for 10 runs in the third inning to cruise past South Lafourche, 15-0.
Destrehan took a 1-0 lead in the first when Anna Hall stole home and added four more runs in the second inning. Hall singled in one of those runs and Gabrielle Marks stole home to put the Lady Tigers up 4-0. Alexa Williams added her team’s fifth run of the game with a sacrifice fly that scored Bailee Hurm.
The Lady Wildcats put the game away in the third inning. Alexis Kennedy tripled in two runs to start the scoring, and Williams doubled home a run to put Destrehan up 10-0.
Singles by Hurm and Amanda McNaughton put the finishing touches on the 15-0 win.
Kennedy and Hurm both finished with three RBIs, while Williams drove in two runs. McNaughton and Hall also drove in runs in the game.
Destrehan ace Krista Robles picked up the win after holding South Lafourche to two hits and striking out four.
Destrehan 7 Comeaux 4
Destrehan used a three-run fifth inning and 15 hits to pick up a 7-4 win over Comeaux.
The Lady Wildcats took an early lead in the first inning after an RBI triple by Hall. Hall later stole home to put her team on top 2-0.
Marks doubled in another run in the third to give Destrehan a 3-0 lead, but Comeaux cut into the advantage with two runs in the bottom of the frame.
In the fourth, Comeaux tied the score at 3-3 on a single, but Destrehan took the lead for good in the fifth.
Julie Scheuermann doubled to center field to put Destrehan up 4-3, and Hurm singled to third to drive in two more runs.In the seventh, Destrehan locked up the win with a double by McNaughton that put the Lady Wildcats up 7-4.
Hurm, Scheuermann, Marks, Hall and McNaughton all finished with an RBI in the game.
Robles picked up the win after giving up nine hits and two earned runs in seven innings. She struck out seven in the game.
Destrehan 3 North Desoto 2
Destrehan continued their winning streak with a tough, 3-2 win over North Desoto. With the game tied at 2-2 in the sixth, Morgan Foret blasted a single to center to drive in what would prove to be the winning run.
Destrehan had taken a 2-0 lead in the third inning thanks to a grounder by Hurm and an RBI single by McNaughton.
Foret finished 2-for-3 from the plate with an RBI.
McNaughton was 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Robles picked up the win after holding North Desoto to six hits and no earned runs in seven innings.
Destrehan 4 Leesville 1
The Lady Wildcats capped the weekend with a 4-1 victory over Leesville.
Destrehan got all the runs they would need for the win in the first inning. Robles singled in the first run of the game, and Williams doubled to center field to score Hall and Robles.
Foret hit a grounder to score Destrehan’s final run of the game in the first inning.
Williams finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Robles went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Robles also picked up the win after giving up five hits and one earned run in seven innings. She struck out five in the game.
