Four teens were arrested on Jan. 7 and charged with armed robbery after they were accused of luring a Metairie drug dealer to a Norco park and attacking him, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Joshua Kearney, 17, of 1609 Pasadena Ave. in Metairie, was sitting in a car with a juvenile on Goodhope Street trying to sell synthetic marijuana, Pat Yoes, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said. Minutes later, they were approached by three other teens who had asked Kearney to meet them in Norco.
Ashton C. Jacob, 18, of 573 Oak St. in Norco, Keithton E. Mouton, 18, of 1056 Old Henderson Road in Breaux Bridge, and a juvenile demanded Kearney’s money and punched him several times, according to the police report. Yoes said that Mouton was holding a gun and apparently used it to hit Kearney on the head.
Kearney sped away from the three attackers and managed to escape before calling police. Yoes said Kearney admitted to trying to sell synthetic marijuana and was arrested and charged with attempted distribution.
Kearney knew one of his attackers and Yoes said deputies were able to track down the other suspects during an investigation. Investigators also discovered that the juvenile who was in the car with Kearney at the time of the attack had helped with the set up, Yoes added.
Jacob, Mouton and the two juveniles were all charged with armed robbery. The names of the two juveniles were not released.
