Police: Man threatened to shoot St. Rose co-workers Official says police have no tolerance for threats of violence By Jonathan Menard - Jan 03, 2013
An employee of International-Matex Tank Terminals in St. Rose was arrested after co-workers said that he threatened to shoot people at work with an AK-47. Steven Berthelot, 31, of 13135 Arnold Road in Walker, reportedly made the threat to several co-workers last week, who in turn contacted police. St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes said he was unsure if Berthelot actually owned any weapons. "We take these threats seriously," Yoes said. "There is no tolerance for making threats of violence. We investigate the threats and when probable cause is present, we make an arrest." Berthelot was charged with terrorizing. He was released from the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center after posting $5,000 bail. Read More Stories at HeraldGuide.com! |
